The name Gerison/Gershon/Grishon is derived from the Hebrew name Gershon/Gershom - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gershon. I suspect that he was initially named Gershon, but since the kikuyu language does not permit a lot of consonant clusters, this became Gerishon. The inverted form - Grishon - likely comes from a mishearing at some point. Gerishon / Grishon appear on official documents, while Gershon is just the source name.
